Chef Phil’s culinary training started when he was a small boy assisting his mother and grandmother prepare holiday meals. In those days his tasks consisted of cracking and grinding nuts, peeling carrots and potatoes and paying close attention to the work of his first kitchen masters. These recipes and skills are still used by him today. Working with his mother and grandmother is where his love and passion for food was first developed. This is  when Chef Phil developed his belief “food does more than nourish the body, it  feeds the soul”

Chef Levy has held many kitchen  jobs prior to formalizing his training. He attended culinary school at  Kendall College in Chicago area. This offered him the opportunity to learn and work with some of the top Chefs in around both in a classroom and in the chefs’ kitchens. Before moving to Denver in December 1994, the chef worked for Chicago’s top fine dining caterer and served as a culinary intern at the Ritz Carlton in Aspen now the St. Regis. Prior to starting PSL Services in 2000, he led kitchens in some of Denver’s top restaurants and country clubs. After starting PSl Services he has worked with many of Denver’s families, members of the Broncos, Avalanche, Nuggets and Rockies as well as  mothers with high risk pregnancies.

Chef Levy’s culinary style includes techniques from around the world using local and sustainable ingredients whenever possible. Staying true to the foundation “let the food be the center”. After 25 years of professional cooking the chef tailors what he does to meet the needs of his clients with the goal of providing the best tasting nutritious food as possible no matter what the special diets or requirements are needed.
